About this manual

The ADM1176 is an integrated hot swap controller designed to allow safe board insertion and removal from a live backplane. It controls supply voltages ranging from 3.15 V to 16.5 V and includes a precision current sense amplifier and a 12-bit ADC for current and voltage readback via a PC-compatible interface.

The device protects external N-channel FETs by limiting inrush current and managing fault conditions. It features an adjustable analog current limit, automatic retry or latch-off on current faults, and programmable timing via the TIMER pin. The ADM1176 is available in a 10-lead MSOP package.
