This application note introduces the LT1575 series ultrafast linear controller. This series products adopt low-power control circuit to achieve low voltage drop and low switch current. The products are suitable for micro-processor systems with CPU as center, and have the characteristics of high precision, high efficiency and low cost.
The document introduces the LT1575, an ultrafast linear controller designed to meet the stringent demands of modern microprocessors. It replaces traditional monolithic regulators or PNP transistor solutions by driving a low-cost N-channel power MOSFET pass transistor with sufficient bandwidth to eliminate bulk decoupling capacitors. This design significantly reduces system cost and parts count while maintaining high accuracy (±0.6% at room temperature) and speed.
The control circuitry can be powered by a nominal 12V supply, with an absolute maximum of 22V.
The internal reference is trimmed to a nominal 1.21V.
The comparator has approximately 100mV of hysteresis.
