This datasheet contains detailed specifications for the MOC3051-M and MOC3052-M.
The MOC3051-M and MOC3052-M are random‑phase optoisolator triac drivers that combine an AlGaAs infrared LED with a non‑zero‑crossing silicon bilateral AC switch. They provide isolation between low‑voltage logic and 115 V or 240 V AC lines, featuring high isolation voltage, low IR‑LED degradation, and enhanced static dv/dt capability for stable switching of inductive loads.
These devices are suited for solenoid/valve controls, lamp ballasts, solid‑state relays, motor controls, and other AC power‑switching applications. The datasheet includes absolute maximum ratings, electrical characteristics, package dimensions, ordering options, and reflow profile information, as well as a life‑support policy disclaimer.
| Isolation Voltage (VISO) | 7500 Vac (peak) |
|---|---|
| Continuous Forward Current (IF) | 60 mA |
| Holding Current (IH) | 280 µA |
| Reverse Voltage (VR) | 3 V |
| Storage Temperature Range | -40 °C to +150 °C |
| Operating Temperature Range | -40 °C to +85 °C |
| Power Dissipation at 25 °C | 330 mW |
The device is rated for a maximum isolation voltage of 7500 Vac peak.
The resistor must limit the driver current to 1 A, so R = Vp AC / 1 A (peak line voltage divided by 1 A).
Both devices are supplied in a 6‑pin DIP random‑phase optoisolator package.
