ADC121C021/ADC121C027 I2C-compatible, 12-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) with Alert Function
The ADC121C021 and ADC121C027 are low‑power, monolithic 12‑bit analog‑to‑digital converters that operate from a single +2.7 V to +5.5 V supply. They use a successive‑approximation register architecture with an internal track‑and‑hold circuit capable of handling input frequencies up to 11 MHz. Both devices provide an I²C‑compatible two‑wire interface supporting standard (100 kHz), fast (400 kHz) and high‑speed (3.4 MHz) modes, and include an out‑of‑range alert function that generates an interrupt when the analog input exceeds programmable limits.
The family is offered in a 6‑lead TSOT package, with the ADC121C021 featuring an ALERT pin and the ADC121C027 providing an address‑selection pin for up to three selectable I²C addresses. Typical power consumption is 0.26 mW at 3 V and 0.78 mW at 5 V, dropping to sub‑pico‑watt levels in power‑down mode. Applications include system monitoring, peak detection, portable instruments, medical devices and test equipment.
