LP38691/LP38693 500mA Low Dropout CMOS Linear Regulators Stable with Ceramic Output Capacitors
The LP38691/LP38693 series are 500 mA low‑dropout CMOS linear regulators offering tight output tolerance (2 % typical) and excellent AC performance when used with ultra‑low ESR ceramic output capacitors. They operate from a wide input range of 2.7 V to 10 V and feature a PMOS power transistor that eliminates DC base‑drive current, keeping ground pin current below 100 pA.
Available in 6‑Lead LLP, SOT‑223, and TO‑252 packages, the devices provide foldback current limiting, an enable pin, and thermal shutdown protection. Detailed pin functions include Vin (input), GND (ground/heat sink), SNS (sense), Ven (enable), and Vout (regulated output). The datasheet also includes ordering information, electrical characteristics, and typical application circuits.
