Microchip TC1014/TC1015/TC1185 Datasheet

The TC1014/TC1015/TC1185 are high accuracy (typically ±0.5%) CMOS upgrades for older (bipolar) low dropout regulators such as the 7805 and 78L05. They provide 50mA (TC1014), 100mA (TC1015) and 150mA (TC1016) output current and can provide standard or custom output voltages in the 1.8V to 5.0V range.

About this manual

The TC1014/TC1015/TC1185 family provides ultra‑low‑noise, low‑dropout voltage regulation for battery‑operated systems, portable computers, medical instruments, and other portable electronics. Each device is offered in a space‑saving 5‑pin SOT‑23A package and supports a range of fixed output voltages from 1.8 V to 5.0 V.

Key features include extremely low supply current (typical 0.5 µA), a power‑saving shutdown input, over‑temperature and over‑current protection, and a reference‑bypass input for ultra‑low‑noise operation. The regulators maintain regulation over a wide temperature range (‑40 °C to 125 °C) and include thermal shutdown at 160 °C.
