bq2002/F is a fast charge IC that supports fast charge for nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride batteries. It can terminate fast charge by -∆V, maximum voltage, maximum temperature, and maximum time. bq2002/F also integrates optional top-off and pulse-trickle control in a single IC for charging one or more NiCd or NiMH battery cells.
The bq2002/F is a low‑cost CMOS fast‑charge management IC for NiCd and NiMH batteries, offering fast‑charge, LED status, optional top‑off and pulse‑trickle functions. It operates from a 4‑6 V supply and is available in an 8‑pin DIP or SOIC package.
The device provides pins for timer mode (TM), temperature sense (TS), battery voltage (BAT), LED status, charge inhibit (INH) and charge‑control (CC). Fast‑charge can be terminated by PVD, –AV, maximum voltage, temperature or time, and a low‑power mode reduces current to less than 1 pA.
