The SP3070E - SP3078E family is a ±15kV ESD-protected, 3.3V low-power RS-485/RS-422 transceiver. It features advanced receiver-failsafe protection for open, shorted, or terminated lines. Up to 256 transceivers can share the bus. It has a very low load for 8x greater fanout and hot swap glitch protection. The transceivers also have thermal shutdown to protect against driver contention. They are available in three industry-standard footprints and support three applications-optimized speed grades. The small form factor packages are suitable for industrial control, utility meters, building automation, instrumentation, and point of sale applications.
