PTB220TS is a sensor that is assembled together with PTB220AxB2Ax barometer to become a transfer/traveling standard. It is also possible to assemble the customer's existing PTB220 barometer and separately ordered wooden case (PTB220CASE). This guide provides the basic operating instructions of the PTB220TS.
The PTB220TS is a transfer/travelling standard that combines a Vaisala PTB220 digital barometer with a wooden carrying case. The guide explains how to assemble the case with an existing PTB220 barometer, operate the unit, and maintain its battery.
The manual covers power requirements, serial interfaces (RS232/RS485), LED status indicators, battery specifications, and detailed technical data such as supply voltage, current consumption, dimensions, and EMC compliance. It also includes connector pin assignments and accessory part numbers.

The PTB220TS operates from a DC supply of 10 … 25 VDC, either via a wall adapter or its internal 12 V lead‑acid battery, which is recharged when the adapter is connected.
The battery provides about 12 hours of continuous use with the backlight on, and a typical recharge takes 12 hours.
The green PWR LED shows the barometer is switched on, the red BATT LED indicates the battery is being recharged, and the yellow TX/RX LEDs signal activity on the serial line.
The RS232 D‑connector uses pins 1‑5 for signals as shown in the manual’s pin‑assignment diagram.
