About this manual

The ADM202 and ADM203 are two‑channel RS‑232 line driver/receiver devices designed for high‑speed data transmission up to 120 kB. They use an on‑chip charge‑pump to generate the required ±10 V RS‑232 levels from a single +5 V supply. The ADM202 requires external 0.1 µF capacitors, while the ADM203 incorporates them internally.

Both devices meet or exceed EIA‑232‑E and V.28 specifications, feature over‑voltage protection up to +30 V on the receiver inputs, and include internal pull‑up/pull‑down resistors for proper logic levels. Pin configurations for DIP and SOIC packages are provided, along with typical performance curves and mechanical dimensions.
