The AD8313 is a wideband, high dynamic range 70dB logarithmic detector/controller that is primarily used in RF transmitter power amplifier setpoint control and level monitoring.
The AD8313 is a multistage demodulating logarithmic amplifier that converts RF power to a linear voltage output. It operates from 0.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz, offers a 70 dB dynamic range, and can be used both as a log detector (RSSI) and as a controller with a separate set‑point interface.
The device runs on a single supply of 2.7 V to 5.5 V, drawing about 40 mW at 3 V in normal mode and 60 mW in power‑down mode. It features eight 8 dB amplifier stages, nine detector cells, and a transresistance output stage that provides a slope of roughly 18 mV/dB. An evaluation board and MSOP‑8 package are available.
