ABB NISA-03 DDCS/ISA Adapter Installation Guide

The NISA-03 DDCS/ISA Adapter is an interface board for controlling ABB ACS 600 Product Family drives from a personal desktop computer. It allows the use of DriveWare PC software. The adapter occupies a standard 16-bit ISA slot on the computer motherboard. The optical signal is connected to the ACx 600's NAMC (Application and Motor Control Board) using fiber optic cables. The NISA-03 has two DDCS-protocol optical channels with different speeds.

About this manual

The NISA-03 DDCS/ISA Adapter is an interface board that enables control of ABB ACS 600 (ACx 600) drives from a PC using Drive Ware software. It occupies a standard 16‑bit ISA slot and communicates via two optical channels (5 Mb/s and 10 Mb/s).

The guide details safety warnings, power‑down procedures, ISA slot insertion, I/O address configuration, and fibre‑optic cable routing to the NAMC board or NDBU branching units. It also includes recommended practices such as using antistatic wrist straps and rubber grommets for cable entry.
