This document is an introduction to the Azipod® CO product, providing system data and information for preliminary project planning. The product features propulsion and steering capabilities and is constantly reviewed and redesigned based on the technology development and needs of customers. This document presents an overview of the Azipod® CO podded propulsion and steering system, including its design concept, frame size options and power ratings up to 4.5 MW. It describes the electric propulsion architecture, steering angle convention and typical installation examples such as offshore supply vessels and private yachts.
The scope of supply section details the four main delivered items – one steering module, one propulsion module and two steering drive units – as well as ship‑specific equipment like propulsion power drives, remote control systems and generator/switchboard outfits. Dimensional codes, weights and interface information are also provided.
