About this manual

The Philips 89C51RB2/RC2/RD2 series are 8‑bit Flash microcontrollers compatible with the 80C51 instruction set. They provide up to 64 KB of ISP/IAP Flash memory, 1 KB of RAM, four 8‑bit I/O ports, three 16‑bit timer/event counters, a full‑duplex enhanced UART and a four‑level priority interrupt structure.

The devices support both In‑System Programming (ISP) via a UART boot loader and In‑Application Programming (IAP) that allows the microcontroller to re‑program its own Flash. They operate from 4.5 V to 5.5 V and can run at clock frequencies up to 33 MHz, available in PDIP, PLCC and PQFP packages.
