The SC68C752B is a dual Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) with 64-byte FIFOs, automatic hardware/software flow control, and data rates up to 5 Mbit/s. It has a Transmission Control Register (TCR) that stores receiver FIFO threshold levels to start/stop transmission during hardware and software flow control. With the FIFO Rdy register, the software gets the status of TXRDY/RXRDY for all four ports in one access. On-chip status registers provide the user with error indications, operational status, and modem interface control. System interrupts may be tailored to meet user requirements. An internal loop-back capability allows on-board diagnostics. The UART transmits data, sent to it over the peripheral 8-bit bus, on the TX signal and receives characters on the RX signal. Characters can be programmed to be 5, 6, 7, or 8 bits. The UART has a 64-byte receive FIFO and transmit FIFO and can be programmed to interrupt at different trigger levels. The UART generates its own desired baud rate based upon a programmable divisor and its input clock. It can transmit even, odd, or no parity and 1, 1.5, or 2 stop bits. The receiver can detect break, idle, or framing errors, FIFO overflow, and parity errors. The transmitter can detect FIFO underflow. The UART also contains a software interface for modem control operations, and has software flow control and hardware flow control capabilities. The SC68C752B is available in

The Philips Semiconductors SC68C562 is a CMOS dual universal serial communications controller (CDUSCC) that provides two independent, multi-protocol, full-duplex receiver/transmitter channels in a single package. It supports bit-oriented and character-oriented synchronous data link controls as well as asynchronous protocols. The SC68C562 interfaces to the 68000 MPUs via asynchronous bus control signals and is capable of program-polled, interrupt driven, block-move or DMA data transfers. It is hardware and software compatible with the SCN68562 (NMOS version). Each channel of the SC68C562 consists of a receiver, a transmitter, a 16-bit multifunction counter/timer, a digital phase-locked loop (DPLL), a parity/CRC generator and checker, and associated control circuits. The two channels share a common bit rate generator (BRG), operating directly from a crystal or an external clock.

The SC618 is a high-current charge pump designed specifically for use with white LEDs used in camera flash applications.

The SC617 is a high-current charge pump specifically designed for use with white LEDs used in camera flash applications. Only two small bucket capacitors are required to develop the output drive, providing a low EMI solution compared to inductive boost regulators. The SC617 has two modes of operation: flash mode and spotlight mode. In flash mode, the SC617 is capable of delivering 500mA of regulated current for a duration of 500ms or up to 700mA for a reduced duration. A safety timer is also included to ensure the LED cannot be left on indefi nitely and overheat. In spotlight mode the SC617 outputs 30% of the flash current.

The SC614 is a low noise backlight and flash driver with a serial interface. It features four independent current sinks for main backlight, adjustable from 0.4mA to 32mA each. It also has three independent current sinks for sub-backlight or flash, adjustable from 0.4mA to 102mA each. The driver supports PWM dimming and flash control, and offers high efficiency and battery life. It is equipped with various protection features and operating modes.

The SC614 is a high efficiency charge pump LED driver using Semtech’s proprietary mAhXLifeTM technology. Performance is optimized for use in Li-ion battery applications. Each of 7 LED currents can be programmed via the I2C serial control bus. M1 through M4 are for LED backlighting of LCD main displays. S1/FL3 through S3/FL1 can be used for backlighting sub displays.

The SC613 is a versatile charge pump designed for use in battery operated power supply applications. The wide input range is matched for Li-Ion battery applications. Only two 1uF ceramic bucket capacitors are required, and the inductorless implementation provides a reduced-EMI solution. Low noise mode switching circuitry and constant output current allow the use of 1uF input and output capacitors. The SC613 charge pump regulator can be used for applications that require up to 140mA of output current with a 4.5V output. The 5.0V output version provides up to 100mA of output current. The small package size, low component count and lower overall system cost coupled with its low noise make the SC613 a superior solution compared to switch mode regulator designs.

The SC606 is a very high efficiency charge pump white/color LED driver from the mAhXLifeTM family of products. It is optimized for Li-Ion battery applications. The LED current is regulated to a value configured by the user through an I2C compatible serial interface. LED outputs are current-matched for consistent LED brightness. Up to 6 LEDs are controlled in three zones for brightness control in multiple displays. The 6 LED outputs are divided into 3 pairs of LEDs. Each pair has current that is programmable independent of the other pairs. Any combination of LEDs may be turned on using the serial interface. The SC606 also has a float detect feature that disables any current driver during normal operation when an open-load condition is detected. Patented low noise switching circuitry and constant output current allow the use of extremely small input and output capacitors.
