This document presents an experimental comparison of several Triac devices under immunity tests, as described in the IEC 61000-4-4 standard. The immunity results are discussed according to the device technology and the gate current sensitivities. A discussion about relevance of dV/dt parameter and die area is carried on to differentiate the devices in term of immunity capability. Several guidelines can then be pointed out to design high immunity appliances.

This Application Note explains in detail why adding a gate to cathode capacitor between the gate terminal and the reference terminal of the thyristor does not efficiently improve the thyristor immunity to fast voltage transients, especially for non-sensitive devices.

The A1301 and A1302 are continuous-time, ratiometric, linear Hall-effect sensors. They are optimized to accurately provide a voltage output that is proportional to an applied magnetic field. These devices have a quiescent output voltage that is 50% of the supply voltage. Two output sensitivity options are provided: 2.5 mV/G typical for the A1301, and 1.3 mV/G typical for the A1302. The Hall-effect integrated circuit included in each device includes a Hall sensing element, a linear amplifier, and a CMOS Class A output structure. Integrating the Hall sensing element and the amplifier on a single chip minimizes many of the problems normally associated with low voltage level analog signals. High precision in output levels is obtained by internal gain and offset trim.

This is an application note that describes the differences between the ST-Realizer II and Realizer Silver versions of the ST company's software.

This document describes how to lookup and use HID devices under Windows. It is related to the MEMS Evaluation boards which are usually connected via USB and accessed through the MEMS USB Reader software. The document provides a section of source code only, however, for a complete project it is necessary to add proper result testing and exception handling.

LIS302DL is an ultra compact low-power three axes linear accelerometer that includes a sensing element and an IC interface able to take the information from the sensing element and to provide the measured acceleration to the external world through I2C/SPI serial interface.

This is an application note for LIS3LV02DL, which introduces the function features and application scenarios of the product

This application note provides application information for the LIS302DL low-voltage 3-axis digital output linear MEMS accelerometer housed in an LGA package. The LIS302DL is an ultra-compact, low-power 3-axis linear accelerometer that includes a sensing element and an IC interface capable taking information from the sensing element and providing the measured acceleration data to external applications via an I2C/SPI serial interface.

Introduces how to use STLM20 temperature sensor on low-cost microcontrollers to improve temperature sensor resolution

This application note describes the method of defining the system for regulating the speed of the 5 Vdc fan using an ST72651AR6 microcontroller and digital temperature sensor STDS75 or STLM75. The sensor measures the temperature data and communicates this data to the microcontroller. Based on this temperature data, the microcontroller issues a PWM signal with varying duty cycle to the fan for regulating its speed.

The purpose of this application note is to provide the system/hardware engineers enough ground knowledge to start the design of capacitive touch inferface solutions with the S-Touch™ capacitive controller devices. The document highlights the recommended step-by-step procedures to be followed for a successful S-Touch™ design-in: design flow, PCB layout, fabrication, assembly pre- production and production tests. Each topic covered in this document is explained in detail in other application notes.
