The LTC
The LTC3355 is designed as a complete input power interrupt ride-through DC/DC system. It charges a supercapacitor while delivering load current to the output, and uses energy from the supercapacitor to provide continuous backup power when the main input voltage is lost.
The device contains a nonsynchronous constant frequency current mode monolithic 1A buck switching regulator for the primary supply, operating with an input up to 20V. It also features a 5A boost backup regulator powered by the supercapacitor, capable of operating down to 0.5V input to maximize energy utilization.
