About this manual

The Linear LT8490 is a buck-boost switching regulator battery charger that implements a constant-current constant-voltage (CCCV) charging profile suitable for sealed lead-acid, flooded, gel, and lithium-ion batteries. It operates from input voltages above, below, or equal to the output voltage and can be powered by a solar panel or a DC power supply.

The device features on-chip logic for automatic maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in solar-powered applications and automatic temperature compensation via an external thermistor. It includes STATUS and FAULT pins for driving LED indicators and is available in a 64-lead QFN package.
