The Woodward GW4 Gateway Interface Converter converts Woodward CAN bus to Modbus, Profibus DP, LDP and other protocols, supporting up to eight control units.
The GW4 Gateway Interface Converter translates the Woodward CAN bus (CAL 2.0) into a variety of industry‑standard protocols such as RS‑232/RS‑485 Modbus, Profibus DP Slave and Leonhard Data Protocol (LDP). One GW4 can communicate with up to eight Woodward GCP‑20/30 or MFR‑2/3 control units and seven LS4 circuit‑breaker controls, allowing data to be sent to external devices like PCs or PLCs and visualized with LeoPC software.
The unit is powered by a 24 Vdc supply (acceptable range 18‑32 Vdc) and draws a maximum of 12 W. It is housed in a DIN‑rail‑mountable APR ANORM DIN 43 700 enclosure (96 × 72 × 130 mm) with an IP21 protection rating and weighs roughly 800 g. Front‑panel connections use screw‑plug terminals (1.5 mm² or 2.5 mm²) and the device features a two‑line LC display and electrical isolation of communication networks.
