About this manual

The Carel EVD Evolution TWIN is a DIN‑rail controller with two drivers for double‑pole stepper motors, designed to manage two electronic expansion valves independently. It features plug‑in screw terminals, optional LED or graphic display, and supports various network interfaces (tLAN, pLAN, RS485/Modbus®). The manual covers installation, commissioning, control functions, parameters, alarms and troubleshooting.

Installation includes wiring of pressure probes (up to 10 m, 30 m shielded), digital inputs, and power cables, with recommendations to keep power and signal cables separate to avoid electromagnetic interference. The controller can be powered from 24 Vac or 24 Vdc, and a battery module (EVBAT00400) provides 12 Vdc backup to close the valves during a power loss.
