This document describes the use of the MMC-1 chip and adapter board, including the function of the chip, pin configuration, register description, etc.
The NEC MMC-1 is a multi‑channel motor‑control ASSP designed for two‑phase four‑wire stepper motors and DC motors. It integrates a 16‑bit MCU core and provides three independent motor channels, each configurable for stepper or DC operation.
The manual covers system block diagrams, pin configuration, register maps, motor‑control functions, serial communication (UART/SPI), sleep mode, reset procedure, electrical characteristics, typical application circuits, and daughter‑board details.
| Supply voltage (Vdd) | 2.7 V – 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Package type | SSOP30 |
| Number of motor channels | 3 |
| Supported motor types | Two‑phase four‑wire stepper and DC motors |
| Serial communication interfaces | UART or SPI |
The MMC-1 supports three independent motor channels.
The chip can be controlled via UART or SPI serial interfaces.
Pull the RESET pin low for more than 10 µs to reset the device.
The device operates with Vdd between 2.7 V and 5.5 V.
