About this manual

The LTC4223 series is a dual‑supply hot‑swap controller designed for Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) and MicroTCA backplanes. It controls a 12 V main supply and a 3.3 V auxiliary supply using an external N‑channel MOSFET, offering adjustable current limiting, circuit‑breaker protection, and thermal shutdown. The LTC4223‑1 version latches off after a fault, while the LTC4223‑2 version automatically retries.

The device includes a full set of electrical specifications, pin‑by‑pin functions, and package options (16‑lead SSOP and 5 mm × 4 mm DFN). Typical applications, functional diagrams, and related hot‑swap controller parts are also provided.
