The IBM B08S and B16S Ethernet switches are high‑performance, modular devices designed for network convergence, offering line‑rate Gigabit Ethernet, PoE, QoS, and full L2/L3 routing capabilities. They share a common operating system and modular power, fan, and interface slots to reduce total cost of ownership.
Key features include IEEE 802.3af PoE (up to 15.4 W per port), extensive L2/L3 protocol support (STP, LACP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, etc.), robust security (SSHv2, SNMPv3, TACACS+, RADIUS), and optional IPv6 modules.
