This manual provides technical information for OEM engineers and systems integrators regarding the installation and use of DiamondMax hard drives.
This document serves as a reference guide for OEM engineers and systems integrators concerning the Maxtor DiamondMax® 60 AT series of hard disk drives. It covers essential technical details including product features, handling precautions, installation procedures, and interface descriptions.
The manual is structured to assist with the setup and configuration of these precision storage devices. Key sections include detailed specifications for various models, instructions on electro-static discharge (ESD) prevention, physical installation steps, and comprehensive documentation on AT interface timing and host software commands.
Before unpacking or handling a drive, take all proper electro-static discharge (ESD) precautions, including personnel and equipment grounding.
Once removed from the shipping container, the drive must be secured through its mounting holes within a chassis or stored on a padded, grounded, antistatic surface.
Drive repair should only be performed at an authorized repair center by contacting the Maxtor Customer Service Center.
