The Genius 3 Tympanic Thermometer and Base is an adjusted mode ear thermometer designed for use in acute and alternative care settings. It provides fast and accurate measurements of patient temperatures from the tympanic membrane, as well as equivalent oral and rectal temperatures. The device features a Peak Select System, multiple pulse timer functions, and a base unit for storage and probe cover management.

No, the thermometer should not be used on patients with ear drainage, blood, brain or spinal fluid, vernix, ear wax plugs, or foreign bodies in the ear canal.
Allow the thermometer to acclimate to the room temperature for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to use.
