About this manual

The L6713A is a two/three phase step-down controller with integrated high current drivers designed for desktop and server CPU power supplies. It supports Intel VR10/VR11 and AMD 6-bit DACs, offering selectable 2 or 3 phase operation via the PHASE_SEL pin. A key feature is the Load Transient Boost (LTB) Technology, which minimizes the number of required output capacitors by providing the fastest response to load transitions.

The device includes embedded drivers, differential current sensing, and a system thermal monitor for over-temperature protection. It offers programmable soft-start, adjustable switching frequency, and various protection mechanisms including over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current protection. The controller is housed in a compact 10x10 mm TQFP64 package with an exposed pad.

Frequently asked questions

What CPUs is the L6713A compatible with?

It is compatible with Intel VR10, VR11, and AMD 6 bit CPUs.

How is the number of phases selected?

The 2 or 3 phase operation can be easily selected through the PHASE_SEL pin.

What is the function of the LTB pin?

Connecting a resistor and capacitor to the LTB pin enables the Load transient boost technology; shorting it to SGND disables the function.
