The M74HC4520 is a high-speed CMOS dual binary counter fabricated with silicon gate CMOS technology. It consists of two identical internally synchronous 4-stage counters, where the counter stages are D-type flip-flops having interchangeable CLOCK and ENABLE inputs for incrementing on either the positive-going or negative-going transition.

It is pin and function compatible with the 74 series 4520.
The counter stages are D-type flip-flops with interchangeable CLOCK and ENABLE inputs for incrementing on either the positive-going or negative-going transition.
The counters are cleared by high levels on their clear lines.
