This document is the quick start guide of Futaba® GY701, which introduces the features and characteristics of the product and how to use it.
The Futaba GY701 combines a heading hold A VCS gyro and a head speed governor in one unit. This document serves as a quick start guide to help users get up and flying with the device using minimum steps before referring to the full instruction manual for advanced settings.
The guide covers model preparation, including sensor installation requirements such as mounting distance from nitro engines and rigidity. It details control box connections for various receiver types (S.BUS or standard), tail rotor servo setup, menu navigation for resetting defaults, selecting flight modes like 3D or F3C, and final pre-flight checks.
| Sensor Technology | MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) |
|---|---|
| Control Algorithm | PID control algorithm |
| Default Servo Type | DG:1520 |
| F3C Pirouette Rate | 450 deg/sec at AFR100% |
| 3D Pirouette Rate | 720 deg/sec at AFR100% |
The gyro sensor should be mounted at least 6 inches (152mm) away from a Nitro Engine.
Press and hold the mode [+] button for one second while in the Gyro Basic menu.
