About this manual

The ST3232E is a 3 V powered communication interface designed for notebook computers, subnotebooks, palmtops, and hand-held equipment. It features two drivers and two receivers that meet EIA/TIA-232 specifications down to 3 V supplies using a proprietary low dropout transmitter output stage with a dual charge pump.

The device offers enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, rated at +15 kV for the human body model and +8 kV for IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge. It guarantees a minimum data rate of 250 kbps with a slew rate of 6 V/us while maintaining RS-232 output levels.
