About this manual

The VN820 is a monolithic high-side driver from STMicroelectronics, designed in the company's VIPower MO-3 technology. It is intended for driving any type of load with one side connected to ground, and it includes features such as CMOS-compatible input, on-state and off-state open-load detection, thermal shutdown protection and diagnosis, undervoltage shutdown, overvoltage clamp, load current limitation, reverse battery protection and electrostatic discharge protection.

This datasheet (Doc ID 7370 Rev. 5) presents the device block diagram and pin description, electrical specifications including absolute maximum ratings, thermal data and electrical characteristics, application information such as GND protection against reverse battery and load dump protection, package and PCB thermal data, package and packing information for the PENTAWATT, P²PAK, PPAK and PowerSO-10 packages, and a revision history.
