ST23R160 is a security smartcard MCU with AES accelerator, 160-Kbyte EEPROM and dual or contact-only interface launched by ST.
The ST23R160 is an enhanced security smartcard microcontroller custom-designed for secure applications. It is based on an enhanced 8/16-bit ST23 CPU core with 16 Mbytes of linear addressable memory, including 390 Kbytes of User ROM and 6 Kbytes of User RAM. The device utilizes advanced ST CMOS EEPROM technology and offers a 160 Kbyte User EEPROM with 128 bytes of OTP area.
The microcontroller supports both contact and contactless communication. It features an RF universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (RFUART) for contactless communication up to 848 Kbits/s compatible with ISO 14443-B and Innovatron (type B') standards. Additionally, it includes an ISO/IEC 7816-3 EMV-compliant asynchronous receiver transmitter (IART) for high-speed serial data support. Security features include an AES accelerator, NESCRYPT crypto-processor, and EAL6+ security certification.
