This document describes the features and characteristics of the ST23ZR04 secure microcontroller, including enhanced security, 4 Kbytes EEPROM, and dual interface.
The ST23ZR04 is a secure microcontroller designed specifically for secure smartcard applications. It is based on an enhanced 8/16-bit ST23 CPU core with 16 Mbytes of linear addressable memory, including 92 Kbytes of User ROM and 4 Kbytes of User RAM. The device utilizes highly reliable CMOS EEPROM technology with 30-year data retention and 500,000 erase/write cycles endurance.
The microcontroller supports contactless communication up to 848 Kbps compatible with ISO/IEC 14443-A and ISO/IEC 14443-B standards via an integrated RF UART. Key security features include an active shield, a true random number generator (TRNG), a 16-bit CRC calculation block, and hardware accelerators for AES and Triple DES encryption.
