About this manual

The National Semiconductor USBN9603 and USBN9604 are integrated, USB Node controllers compatible with USB Specification versions 1.0 and 1.1. These devices feature enhanced DMA support, including an Automatic DMA (ADMA) mechanism for fully CPU-independent transfer of large bulk or isochronous packets.

The controller integrates a USB transceiver, a Serial Interface Engine (SIE), endpoint FIFOs, and a versatile 8-bit parallel interface supporting both multiplexed and non-multiplexed modes. It includes a programmable clock generator, a MICROWIRE/PLUS interface, and operates with low EMI and low standby current.
