About this manual

The AD7841 is a monolithic integrated circuit containing eight 14-bit Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) in a single package. It features voltage outputs with a full-scale range of ±10 V, driven by reference voltages of ±5 V. The device accepts 14-bit parallel loaded data from an external bus into one of eight input registers, controlled by the WR, CS, and channel address pins (A0–A2).

Frequently asked questions

How many DACs are integrated in the AD7841?

The AD7841 contains eight 14-bit DACs on one monolithic chip.

How are the DAC outputs updated?

Outputs update when new data is received into the DAC registers, or simultaneously by taking the LDAC input low.

What is the minimum resistive load for the DAC outputs?

The minimum resistive load to 0 V is 5 kΩ.
