About this manual

The AD9665 is a 4-channel, LVDS, dual-output laser diode driver designed for high-performance CD-RW and DVD recordable drives, including DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM supercombo drives. It features dual current-controlled output current sources with four input channels, where the read channel provides a continuous output power level, and the three write channels can be controlled via TTL or LVDS interfaces.

Frequently asked questions

What are the applications for the AD9665?

It is used in DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM supercombo drives, Magneto-optical (MO) drives, and for laser diode current switching.

How is the output current level set?

The level of the output current is set by an external resistor which converts voltage into current at the WxSET pin.
