About this manual

This document describes the usage of the Fairchild Switch (FST) for 5V to 3V level conversion. The FST is a high-speed, low-power device capable of translating logic levels between 5V and 3V systems. Due to specific voltage drop characteristics when input and supply voltages are at the same level, a diode is recommended to be connected between the 5V power supply and ground to achieve the correct voltage translation. This manual is written in Japanese.

Frequently asked questions

How is the 5V to 3V level conversion achieved?

A diode is connected between the 5V power supply and ground to utilize the forward voltage drop.

What is the voltage at the Vcc pin after the diode drop?

The voltage at the Vcc pin becomes approximately 4.3V (5V - 0.7V).
