The HI 4015 and HI 4115 are high resolution ion selective electrodes designed for the measurement of Silver/ Sulfide ions in aqueous solutions. The HI 4015 is a solid state half-cell sensor that requires a separate reference. The HI 4115 is a combination ion selective electrode.
This document provides instructions for the Hanna Instruments HI 4015 (solid state half-cell) and HI 4115 (combination electrode). These devices are designed for the potentiometric measurement of free silver or sulfide ions in aqueous solutions. The manual details their operating principles, including the Nernst equation application.
| Type | Solid State electrode with a Silver/ Sulfide pellet |
|---|---|
| Measurement range (Silver) | 1.0 M to 1 x 10^-7 M |
| Operating Temperature | 0-80°C |
| Connection type | BNC |
The HI 4015 requires a separate reference electrode, specifically the Hanna HI5315 Double Junction Reference Electrode with HI 7072 Fill Solution.
An acceptable value for the slope difference between two mV readings is 56 +/- 4 mV.
The damaged surface can be removed using the microabrasive strip HI 4000-70 by wetting it and rotating it against the membrane.
