About this manual

Agilent J&W Ultra Inert and GC/MS GC columns are designed to provide low column bleed and low column activity for sensitive applications in the trace range, regardless of the detector type. These unique columns feature a special surface deactivation and siloxan chemistry that improves the performance capability of siloxan polymers, ensuring reliable performance and low bleed even at high temperatures. They are suitable for a wide range of uncomplicated as well as difficult sample types.

The columns undergo strict quality controls to ensure high reproducibility and performance for nearly all substance types, including chemically active substances. Ultra Inert columns offer superior column inertness with the same selectivity as MS columns, meaning no additional effort is required for re-validation of methods. The manufacturing processes combine optimized chemistry with modern production methods to improve inertness without affecting the selectivity of DB- and HP-5ms columns. This manual is written in German.

Frequently asked questions

What specific applications are these columns designed for?

These columns are designed for detecting melamine and testing drinking water for difficult-to-detect dangerous contaminants that threaten food safety.

Do Ultra Inert columns require method re-validation when switching from standard MS columns?

No, because Ultra Inert columns offer the same selectivity as MS columns, no additional effort for re-validating methods is required.
