This document introduces the concept, pin-out, specifications, commands, hardware integration guide and full information needed to implement a solution using this processor
The GHI Electronics ALFAT SoC processor is an ARM Cortex-M3 based device designed to provide a robust FAT16/32 file system engine. It integrates built-in drivers for accessing storage media, including two USB 2.0 host ports and SD/SDHC/MMC cards, eliminating the need for complex licensing or extensive development resources.
The processor communicates with a host microcontroller via UART, SPI, or I2C interfaces, allowing for simple command-based control of file operations such as read, write, seek, and delete. It supports Long File Names (LFN) licensed by Microsoft and offers high-speed data access rates up to 4000 KBytes/sec on supported media.
