Frequently asked questions

What are the three different pitch levels available on the B-40?

The B-40 has three different pitch levels indicated by the numbers 16', 8' and 4'. An 8' tone sounds as written, a 16' tone is one octave lower, and a 4' tone is one octave higher.

How do the Upper Preset Tone selectors work?

These are factory preset switches that automatically cancel all other upper keyboard tone lever settings. If two or more buttons are pressed, the one to the right takes effect.

What is the function of the Manual Balance control?

This control governs the relative strength of the upper and lower keyboards. It can be shifted to stress the melody or accompaniment, or used to compensate for volume differences caused by tone lever settings.
