This document describes the features and characteristics of the CAT93C56/57 series 2K-bit serial EEPROM memory devices produced by Catalyst Semiconductor. The product features high-speed operation of 1MHz, low-power CMOS technology, 1.8 to 5.5 volt operation, selectable x8 or x16 memory organization, self-timed write cycle with auto-clear, software write protection, sequential read, power-up inadvertent write protection, 1,000,000 program/erase cycles endurance, and 100-year data retention. It is suitable for commercial, industrial, and automotive temperature ranges. The product is RoHS-compliant.
