Linear Technology's LTC3737 is a 2-phase dual step-down switching regulator controller that requires few external components. It uses a constant-frequency current-mode architecture, senses MOSFET VDS to eliminate current-sense resistors, and operates the two controllers out of phase to reduce input-capacitance ESR power loss and noise.
The device includes Burst Mode or pulse-skipping operation at light loads, 100% duty cycle for low dropout, a tracking input, internal soft-start, a power-good output monitor, and output overvoltage protection. Switching frequency can be programmed up to 750kHz or externally synchronized from 250kHz to 850kHz, and the part is offered in a 4mm x 4mm QFN or 24-lead SSOP package.
