About this manual

The AD1851 (16‑bit) and AD1861 (18‑bit) are monolithic PCM audio DACs offering high‑performance audio playback. They include a voltage reference, output amplifier, DAC, serial‑to‑parallel register and support optional linearity trim for low‑distortion operation. Both devices operate from a single +5 V supply and are pin‑compatible with AD1856/AD1860.

The datasheet provides electrical specifications, absolute maximum ratings, pin descriptions, grounding recommendations, and recommended power‑supply decoupling. Application notes show typical connection diagrams with digital filter chips and outline dimensions for DIP and SOIC packages.
