This document provides the user manual for BlackBox LWU02001.0 Power over Ethrenet, including installation restrictions and laser safety regulations.
The LWU0200 is a free‑space optical (FSO) communication system that transmits up to 100 Mbps of data using laser light. It is designed for point‑to‑point links where a clear line of sight exists, offering a virtual fibre‑optic connection without cables, frequency licences, or electromagnetic interference. The manual covers eye‑safety compliance (IEC 60825 Part 12, ANSI 2136.1) and describes the metal, waterproof housing that protects the electronics.
Installation guidelines specify that in unrestricted areas the link head must be mounted at least 3 m above ground and no more than 7 m from the edge of the area, with a warning sign posted. No special requirements apply to restricted or controlled locations. Typical applications include LAN inter‑connects across rivers or railways, urban deployments where leased lines are costly, industrial sites with high EMI, and ISP back‑haul connections.
