This document describes the features and characteristics of Analog Devices' low-cost microprocessor supervisory circuits ADM705/ADM706/ADM707/ADM708, including RESET validity, quiescent current, supply voltage monitoring, reset pulse width, manual reset input, watchdog timer, etc.
The ADM705/ADM706/ADM707/ADM708 family are low‑cost microprocessor supervisory circuits that monitor 5 V supplies or batteries. They offer precise voltage monitoring, a 190 µA quiescent current, a debounced manual reset input, and (for ADM705/ADM706) an independent watchdog timer with a 1.60 s timeout.
These devices are supplied in narrow 8‑lead PDIP, 8‑lead SOIC, and MSOP packages and are intended for use in microprocessor systems, computers, controllers, and intelligent instruments where reliable power‑fail detection and reset are required.
| Operating Voltage Range (VCC) | 1.0 V to 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Supply Current | 190 µA typical, 250 µA max |
| Reset Threshold (ADM705/ADM707) | 4.65 V typical |
| Reset Pulse Width | 200 ms typical |
| Watchdog Timeout Period | 1.60 s typical |
| Input Low Voltage (VIL) | 0.4 V |
| Input High Voltage (VIH) | 0.8 × VCC |
| Absolute Maximum VCC Rating | -0.3 V to +6 V |
The device guarantees a valid reset level with VCC as low as 1 V.
The reset pulse width is typically 200 ms.
All parts are available in narrow 8‑lead PDIP, 8‑lead SOIC, and 8‑lead MSOP packages.
