About this manual

The TGR series are low‑cost, synthesised RF signal generators that provide high frequency accuracy, stability, wide dynamic range, low phase noise, and flexible modulation capabilities. The TGR2050 covers 150 kHz – 2 GHz with AM, FM and Phase modulation, while the TGR1040 spans 10 MHz – 1 GHz with FM modulation only.

Both models feature numeric or rotary control, non‑volatile storage for nine setups, and full remote control via RS‑232 (and optional GPIB on the TGR2050). They are designed for development, test and service work such as FM radio receiver measurements, system gain testing, and EMC assessments.

Frequently asked questions

What is the frequency accuracy of the TGR1040?

The TGR1040 provides accuracy better than ±1 ppm over a temperature range of 15 °C to 30 °C.

How many instrument set‑ups can be stored?

Nine full instrument set‑ups can be stored in non‑volatile memory.

Which remote interfaces are available on the TGR series?

Full remote control is available via RS‑232 on both models and optional GPIB (IEEE‑488) on the TGR2050 (and optional on the TGR1040).

What modulation types does the TGR2050 support?

The TGR2050 offers AM, FM and Phase modulation using either an internal or external source.
