The document describes the features and characteristics of a product.
The D6571A is a digital speech and signal processing subsystem for telephone answering devices. It provides TRUESPEECH® speech compression, voice prompts, flash memory management, full‑duplex speakerphone, DTMF generation/detection, caller ID and other line‑signal functions, all controlled via a simple host interface.
The chip supports 4 Mb to 16 Mb flash memory, operates at 3.3 V or 5 V, and uses an 8‑bit parallel port with four handshake lines for communication with the host controller. Benefits include flexible recording time, low‑cost design, and optional features such as multiple mailboxes and programmable detection thresholds.
| Flash Memory Size | 4 Mbit |
|---|---|
| Maximum Flash Memory | 16 Mb |
| Operating Voltage | 3.3V or 5V |
| Host Interface | 8-bit parallel port with 4 handshake lines |
| High Bit Rate | 9.6 Kbps |
| Mid Bit Rate | 7.2 Kbps |
| Low Bit Rate | 4.4 Kbps |
It implements speech compression, voice prompts, telephone line signal processing, flash memory management, full‑duplex speakerphone, DTMF generation and detection, caller ID, and other call‑progress features.
Through an 8‑bit parallel port with four handshake lines; the host writes high‑level commands and receives status via the ACK pin.
The chip can use 4 Mb or 16 Mb flash devices, with up to four 4 Mb chips per system, and optionally a 64K×8 EPROM/ROM for voice prompts.
It operates at either 3.3 V or 5 V.
