This document introduces Weller's Zero-Smog Systems, including smoke tubes and volume extraction, which can be used for soldering, gluing, etc., to remove smoke or fine particles
Weller Zero‑Smog systems offer both tip extraction, where a smoke tube on the soldering iron captures fumes directly at the joint, and volume extraction for larger work areas such as solder baths, hot‑air stations and laser processing. Units range from portable, compressed‑air‑driven models (WFE, WFE P) to powerful mobile units (WFE 20D, WFE 2S, WFE 4S) that can serve up to 20 workstations.
All units use a three‑stage filter system: a fine‑dust pre‑filter (F5/F7), a HEPA filter (class H13, 99.95 % efficiency) and a wide‑band gas filter containing 50 % active carbon and 50 % Puratex. Optional gas filters target adhesive and solvent fumes. Remote monitoring via RS‑232 or PC allows control of pump speed, vacuum level and filter‑status indicators.
| Maximum vacuum (tip extraction units) | 12,000 Pa |
|---|---|
| Maximum vacuum (volume extraction units) | 20,000 Pa |
| Low vacuum (volume extraction) | 2,800 Pa |
| Maximum number of FE soldering irons (WFE 20D) | 20 |
| Operating pressure (compressed‑air units) | 8.5 – 6 bar |
The WFE 20D unit can generate a maximum vacuum of 12,000 Pa.
Up to 20 FE soldering irons can be connected to the WFE 20D system.
