About this manual

The compact Luminary Micro Stellaris® Intelligent Display Modules (MDL‑IDM and MDL‑IDM28) provide a graphical touch‑screen HMI solution for control, automation, and instrumentation. Both modules feature 10/100 Ethernet; the MDL‑IDM adds IEEE 802.3af‑compliant Power‑over‑Ethernet for single‑cable power and data.

Key features include a 2.8" QVGA (240 × 320) 16‑bit color LCD with white LED backlight and resistive touch, a 32‑bit ARM® Cortex‑M3 microcontroller, 256 KB Flash, 64 KB SRAM, 168 KB Image RAM, a microSD slot, and flexible power options (PoE, 24 V DC jack, 5 V DC terminals). The modules ship with full source code, design files, and support tools for Keil, IAR, Code Sourcery, and Code Red, plus a reference design kit (RDK‑IDM) for rapid evaluation.
