This document introduces the Victron Energy TRANSFER SWITCH, including its purpose, working principle, and usage. The product can automatically switch between different power sources, including generators, shore, and inverters, and can be used with any Victron Energy inverter.
The Victron Transfer Switch automatically switches AC power between two sources—such as a generator, shore power, or an inverter—to keep connected equipment supplied with stable power. It monitors voltage and frequency and changes to the alternate source when the primary source varies, then returns after the source stabilises for about 10 seconds.
Installation requires all AC sources to be disconnected, mounting the unit in a dry, well‑ventilated area, and using the correct wire cross‑section and protective fuses or MCBs. Connections must be tightened to minimise resistance, and the optional delay adjustment can be set with a flat‑blade screwdriver if needed.
| Power rating (kVA) | 0‑5, 0‑10, 0‑25 |
|---|---|
| Nominal voltage | 200‑250 V AC, single phase |
| Nominal frequency | 50‑60 Hz |
| Input 1 nominal current | 20 A / 40 A / 125 A |
| Output nominal current | 20 A / 40 A / 125 A |
| Power consumption (Input 1) | 6 VA / 6 VA / 25 VA |
| Delay before switching back | ≈10 s (adjustable) |
| Operating temperature | -5 °C to +60 °C |
| Protection category | IP54 |
If the voltage level or frequency of the generator or shore power varies, the switch moves to the inverter; when the original source becomes stable again, it switches back after about 10 seconds.
The default delay is approximately 10 seconds, and it can be adjusted with a small flat‑blade screwdriver.
